Insurance Plans
Most insurance plans cover counseling and online counseling with only a co-pay that typically ranges from $0-$30 depending on your insurance.
Some clients have high deductible insurance plans that need to be met before an insurance company will cover the cost. If this is the case Christine Hurst will work with you on a plan to stay within your budget. Typically, Christine will charge the allowable insurance rate.
To find out what your insurance will cover look on the back of your insurance card. There will be a membership phone number you can call. You will want to ask whether your plan will cover in-network mental health for outpatient sessions for individual, couples, family or group therapy depending on your needs. HSA or FSA Plans
Your work may also provide a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flex Spending Account (FSA). If this is the case, you can use this money to cover the cost of service.
These plans are typically offered at the time you are eligible for insurance with your employer. A portion of your paycheck goes to your HSA or FSA account for you to use for approved services and items. Usually, deductibles and co-pays for counseling are approved. If you are own your own business you may be eligible to open a HSA account usually through your bank account.
Opt- Out of Insurance
Lastly, there is the option to opt-out of using your insurance and pay privately instead by signing a simple Opt-Out form. This gives Christine permission to work with you outside of the Insurance contract. There are some benefits of doing this, especially if you have a high deductible. This will allow Christine to be able to be more flexible in regards to financial options with you. The other reason some may choose not to use their insurance is that in order to bill insurance there will need to be a mental health diagnosis, treatment plan and ongoing progress notes that potentially could be accessible by your insurance company. For some, this feels invasive to their privacy. Click here to learn more about Private Pay options.

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential workplace service that employers pay for. An EAP helps employees deal with work-life stressors, family issues, financial concerns, relationship problems, and even drug or legal concerns. They often will cover anywhere between one to six counseling sessions at no cost to the client. I suggest exploring your benefit plan with your employer to find out more.
